This position is responsible for performing testing and evaluation on a variety of products to the provisions of client-provided or other national, international or industry-specific performance and durability standards or U.S., Canadian and other International product safety standards; writing reports; and communicating with clients.

What you’ll do:
• Under the guidance of a more senior engineer, conduct on and off site evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable standard(s). To do this, Engineer must:
• Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test);
• Read and understand client-provided or otherwise published performance or product safety standards;
• Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions;
• Validate the project scope and sample applicability;
• Under scope of the project, identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing;
• Follow established test plan;
• Set up and operate EUT; perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed;
• Conduct thorough construction review, or sample inspection as needed; document results;
• Perform testing of products in accordance with standards. Core tests include, but are not limited to: Battery Cycling (Charge/Discharge), Vibration, Temperature/Humidity soak or cycle, durability cycling, Voltage and Current measurement, dielectric, pressure, abnormal and fault condition simulation, rain, dust, corrosion.
• Set up and operate standard test equipment including, but not limited to: Temperature/Humidity Chambers; Vibration Test Controllers; Programmable Power Supplies; PLC or other controllers; pneumatic, hydraulic or electric actuators; AC/DC power supplies and loads; oscilloscope; multi-meter; dielectric strength tester; ground continuity tester; digital multi-meter; surge generator; over-voltage tester; environmental condition chamber; and articulated probes. Use hand tools to build/calibrate test fixtures.
• Following sample handling procedures, ensure that sample is logged into and out of the system. Move equipment as needed through the facility. Properly package sample for shipment.
• Compile test results during construction review and testing. Compile data and product description and type final report using established report shell. Submit report to reviewer for final approval.
• Communicate project status and test results to client, sales personnel, and management throughout testing. Provide on-going support to clients as needed.
• Within policy guidelines, identify, properly document, and recommend engineering judgments.
• Perform other work as required

• Bachelors degree in engineering

The Mass Electric Transportation regional offices are located in Washington D.C., Seattle, WA, Dallas, TX, and Phoenix, AZ. Required Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship. Must have or be able to obtain a security clearance. Engineering / Scientific/Technical degree or equivalent military / vocational certifications with experience in testing / test management of aviation and missile systems/components / subsystems and associated hardware / systems. Extensive experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Project. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Problem solving and analytical skills.

Work Environment
The role involves configuring, installing, and deploying systems as well as testing them. You will be involved in creating and tracking issues for new products, ensuring that software and computer systems perform as intended. The position requires familiarity with both Windows and Linux operating systems and working with different computer components and documentation software like Word and Visio. This role is part of the Computer Systems group, focusing on software testing rather than development. You will follow written test procedures and help document those procedures and steps for others to follow. The work environment is high-tech and involves detailed documentation and communication.

JOB DETAILS
LOCATION: Wright Patterson AFB, OH
JOB STATUS: Full Time
TRAVEL: 10% CONUS / OCONUS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Masters degree, or additional years of qualifying experience
• A minimum of 3 years of work experience, or additional years experience for degree substitution
• An active Secret security clearance is required for consideration (U.S. Citizenship Required)
• Manual testing experience
• Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plans, executes, and reports on the developmental test and evaluation for the: Commercial Asset Visibility Air Force (CAV-AF), Requirements Management System (RMS), and Weapon Systems Management Information System Family of Systems (WSMIS FoS)
• Provides individual technical effort in responding to questions/issues of critical importance to the customer
• Supports the development of strategic test documents such as Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), test team charters and Test Plans and Reports as applicable
• Assists in ensuring system requirements are testable and advises on performance measures, test entry/exit criteria, test design limitations and constraints, and test progress
• Employs test automation tools and utilities supporting test execution
• Develops and employs tests utilizing performance-testing tools
• Identifies and documents deficiencies and anomalies of systems under test, evaluates and reports deficiencies, provides recommendations, and participates in deficiency review boards
• Prepares, executes, reviews, and analyzes test objectives, plans, procedures and metrics; prepares reports throughout the software development life cycle. Develops and writes methods of tests, test cases, test cards, and any other test process documents required to plan, execute and report on testing
• Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays when required to meet mission requirements
• Travels to TDY locations to execute test procedures; perform data management, reduction, and analysis; perform configuration management, hardware setup, and hardware troubleshooting
• Provisioning of user accounts, including account creation and modification in the NIPR environment for testing
